Often, the most beautiful moments of a wedding happen in the portions of the day when most would consider “nothing” to be going on. As a documentary wedding photographer, I am always searching for the ephemeral in-between. This photograph is a good example of the kind of quiet beauty that can be found.
The heart of a wedding, in my opinion, is familial love. The photographs that matter are always unscripted and emotional. Years from now, a spontaneous moment of tenderness, like this embrace between the bride and her mother on the morning of her wedding day, will still be powerful and timeless.
