Beautiful Boston wedding venues

Searching for Boston wedding venues can be a daunting process. There are so many wonderful spaces in the city, and all of them have a unique style and different benefits.  Whether you are inviting 50 guests or 300, there is a space in Boston that will be beautifully suited to your needs. If you have your heart set on a Boston wedding, these are my favorite venues in the city.

One of the most sought after venues in the city is the BPL.  The Catered Affair handles all the events at the library, and they always craft wonderful celebrations that feature flawless service and amazing food. The library exudes old world elegance and is perfect for couples who are seeking a space for a very dressy affair. There are numerous spaces available in the Library including Bates Hall, the center courtyard, the Popular Reading Room, and the Abbey Room. The Boston Public Library can host both ceremonies and receptions.

The Ritz-Carlton Boston Common is a wonderful place to host a wedding with an elegant and modern flair.  The ballroom overlooks the Boston common and is one of the prettiest hotel ballrooms in the city. The hotel also contains the Avery Bar, which is wonderful for wedding after-parties. In addition to being a beautiful set of spaces, the Ritz staff knows how to execute perfect events and always takes great care of all their clients. The Ritz can host both ceremonies and receptions.

The MFA is, to the best of my knowledge, the most exclusive wedding venue available in Boston. After some thorough vetting, a lucky few can celebrate their nuptials in the midst of priceless art in the new wing of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. With soaring ceilings, flawless architecture and a massive amount of space, it is guaranteed to ensure an unforgettable and lavish wedding.

The Taj Hotel in Boston is a classic space that can host wedding ceremonies and receptions. Their ballroom spaces have a formal, old-fashioned feeling (one has blue tones and one features red and yellow hues), and the enclosed rooftop is modern and playful (the roof color scheme is black and white). I love the views from the roof.

I believe that the Wang theater is now called the Citi Performing Arts Center. Either way, it is a stunning space for a wedding. The interior is a sparkling sea of marble and chandeliers and is one of the most formal spaces in the city.

The Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel is one of my favorite hotels. I love the diversity in the size and style of their ballrooms. The grand ballroom is a perfect choice for clients with a very large guest list and the desire for a gorgeous, dressy space. Since the Fairmont recently underwent renovations, the entire hotel glitters, and the new restaurant, Oak Long Bar, is the perfect place to end a magical wedding reception.

The ICA is probably my favorite wedding venue downtown.  the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston boasts both indoor and outdoor spaces and also happens to sit on the waterfront. The space is extremely versatile. In essence, it is a a very modern but blank canvas, which requires a large budget and some creativity, but can result in stunning wedding designs.

The Artists for Humanity Epicenter is a funky South Boston wedding venue. If you like concrete minimalism, the Epicenter might be the perfect spot for you. There is a large garage door on one side of the space that opens to a cute little outdoor patio for guests, and the indoor area is spacious and features high ceilings. With good lighting and a creative vision for tablescapes, the venue can transform effortlessly!

The Main Clubhouse of the Harvard Club possesses an imposing and unusual charm. The ballroom is beautiful and slightly gothic in feeling, with wood paneling, large inlaid art on the walls, high ceilings, and huge chandeliers.

The Intercontinental Boston Hotel is home to one of the largest ballroom spaces in Boston. With huge windows overlooking the harbor, the modern space is a blank canvas that can be transformed with flooring, drapery, and lighting. As an extra perk, the food and service at the Intercontinental is outstanding.

The State Room is home to some fabulous Boston skyline views and a super chic minimalist interior that can easily be molded to the theme desired for your wedding day. The floor to ceiling windows are the most memorable aspect of the venue.
